Location:
Hrubieszów, Poland
Pastor/Leader:
Szymon Kwoka
History and Context:
The Church of Evangelical Christians is located very close to the border between Ukraine and Poland. During the first days and months of the war, this church was an essential first point of safety and refuge for Ukrainian refugees crossing the border. They have seen thousands of refugees come through their church, and have become a hub for serving Ukrainian refugees within the city.
Primary Ministries:
The Church of Evangelical Christians continues to minister to Ukrainian refugees coming across the border into Poland. They also have outreach to the local community, especially the youth through drop-in events and camps that run throughout the year. They have an outreach café in the main square of the city which serves Ukrainian refugees coming across the border.
Current Needs:
- Facility upgrades to increase the ability to serve Ukrainian refugees and the needs of the church
- Purchase of resources like food and other essentials for the Ukrainian refugee ministry, camps, and drop-in events
