History and Context:
The Missionary Baptist Church of Chernihiv was established in 1991 with the goal of spreading the Gospel among the unsaved. The church has grown, and through its ministry, daughter churches have been planted and continue active ministry to this day.
With God’s help, the Missionary Baptist Church strives to reach different age groups and segments of the population. They believe that every person should have the opportunity to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
During the war, the church has not stopped its ministry and has become even more active, continuing to preach God’s Word and help the people of Chernihiv and the Chernihiv region. The Lord is at work in this church community, with 17 people being baptized in July 2024, and more to follow.
Primary Ministries:
The primary goal and vision of the church is to preach God’s Word not only within the church building, but also beyond its walls through various evangelistic events, charitable activities, work in schools, children’s camps, and other projects.
Currently, many people are turning to the church for help. Despite struggling with insufficient resources, the Missionary Baptist Church seeks to minister to the physical needs of people by providing food and other basic essentials. They have a ministry to the elderly that feeds hundreds of people every week.
Current Needs:
- Purchase of resources for the various ministries and outreach activities
- Purchase of food, medicine, and other basic essentials for the packages distributed to those in need
- Facility upgrades to the church hall and annex on the first floor so that the church can expand its ministry, accommodate more people, and organize meals for those in need
