Launch at Heritage

“We will never understand the abundant life until we follow Christ and His Mission.” This was a quote from one of the speakers at Heritage College & Seminary’s Missions Conference in February. I attended the conference with Julianna Richardson, another intern, to represent the Launch Internship through Fellowship International. The day comprised of conference sessions, classroom presentations, as well as many students and missionaries becoming acquainted with the mission organizations represented. It was incredible to see the faithfulness of God on display at each and every table I visited. The beautiful people behind each table, the stories they shared of their life experiences—it all demonstrated that although missions work is never easy, when we decide to follow Jesus, we see the fruit of the harvest He brings in! The challenge, though, is found in this one word: follow.

While I was passionately telling students about the Launch program, I was humbly reminded of how God called me to follow Him at all costs; especially when I took the unknown step of stepping into the Launch program a year ago. I wanted to serve Jesus and teach discipleship in Toronto, and God heard my desire. Launch has taught me that following Jesus at every turn really is a step of faith, and that’s the exciting part: when we step out in faith, we see His faithfulness! During the conference I was unexpectedly asked to perform my Spoken Word “Choo Choo” which conveys this idea. You can watch a brief video of this here.

At the end of the day, my team and I were extremely encouraged to see the providence of God throughout the world and the exciting dreams, visions, and callings He has placed upon each student, faculty member, and missionary. A big thank you to Heritage College & Seminary for blessing the world with a wonderful missions conference.
