LeadersFormation Update

In this month’s blog, we’re sharing with you some awesome updates we’ve received from LeadersFormation Coordinator Paul Harbourne. We hope you’ll be encouraged by these stories and continually pray for this ministry.

Much is happening in our LeadersFormation projects these days.

Our Uganda project has begun with lots of excitement and possibilities ahead. We have over 30 pastors and church leaders gathering in Jinja, Uganda to be equipped to produce more effective leaders and disciples of Jesus. This project is well supported by several church partners and is scheduled to conclude in 2026 or early 2027.

The Dominica project concluded with a grand celebration time for the 22 church leaders and pastors. Pastor Dennis Campbell from Morningstar Christian Fellowship (Toronto, ON) as well as Fellowship International Director Ben Porter were able to travel to Dominica and join in the festivities. This group is already planning how to train a second generation of church leaders.

The Philippines project is approaching the first anniversary since its launch. The group of 33 pastors are anxious to further develop their disciple-making strategies and see the churches on the island of Panay flourish, grow, and reproduce in the coming months and years. There is a need for more church partners to join in support of this project. The opportunity for the growth of the Gospel in the Philippines is exceptional and we have a huge opportunity to help the national churches.

Our Kenya project is almost completed. The plan is to have the final session in November of this year. The 19 pastors in this group have been hampered by the pandemic, but have remained enthusiastic and committed to seeing their church leaders develop in their regions in western Kenya. We appreciate your prayers in seeing this project through to completion. The need for Bible-based teaching and leadership in Kenyan churches is extreme and these men will help meet that need.

There are possibilities for new projects in Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean. We need more partners to pray, to give, and to go so these possibilities can become realities. Thank you for your ongoing support for LeadersFormation.
