Momentum - Churches

Colombian neighbourhood located on a hillside

As part of the Momentum (Colombia) special appeal, FAIR is asking churches to engage in one or more of the following ways. It’s up to each church to prayerfully decide their level of engagement. We invite you to review the options below and identify what fits your church family best.

Option 1: Commit to a gift or offering.

Decide on a financial goal that your church or group can commit to give or raise in an Easter or special offering.

Some things to consider when setting your church’s goal:

  • Different churches are able to raise different amounts. Set a faith goal that fits your congregation’s size and capacity, but that is also big enough to create a sense of excitement and dependence on God. Then celebrate whatever your church family is able to raise.
  • Book a speaker to come visit your church or group and share about the Momentum special appeal and what God is already doing through Colombian churches.
  • Check out the promotional resources that FAIR has made available to help promote this appeal in your context.
  • Make use of FAIR’s Love Extended Feature brochure, which is designed to help families and individuals see how a donation of any size can contribute to meeting the needs of vulnerable Colombians. You can request hard copies for your church family, or check out the digital version.

Option 2: Learn More About Colombia

Watch the Momentum appeal video, as well as the Missions Full Circle that highlights the history of Fellowship missionary involvement in Medellín and how God is working now. Consider sharing one or both of these videos with your church leading up to an Easter or special offering.

Option 3: Pray for Colombia.

Make time to pray for Colombian churches in your weekly church gathering, as part of your church offering, or as a regular rhythm.

Option 4: Serve with churches and organizations

FAIR is facilitating short-term mission trips designed to help Canadians use their talents and energy to serve Colombian churches. There are many opportunities to serve with El Redil churches and ministries. Trips will be taking place in 2025; details to be finalized by April 2025. If there is interest in your church to send a team, you can sign up beforehand with the understanding that the specifics are still to be determined. Churches that choose this option are responsible for gathering the team and vetting participants. Contact FAIR for information by phone (519-821-4830) or email.

FAIR will not be sending individuals who are not connected with a Fellowship church.

Here are some of the ways that short-term mission teams can serve:

  • kids camps (counselors/leaders)
  • women’s ministry (psychologists, counselors, pastors)
